First Music Producer Studio

Raz settled in his new home in Los Angeles, CA in the spring of 1996. He spent most of the first few months rehearsing with his band before starting work on his first music producer's studio. Since he was still self-employed, he was not allowed to have a regular job, so he had to supplement his income through several ways including writing, performing, marketing, mixing, and recording. One of the ways he earned a considerable amount of money was by performing at weddings, birthday parties, and other events. Many of these he organized as a surprise for friends and family members.

Once he had gotten his business going, he knew that he needed a place where he could record his songs. He decided to set up a music producer's studio in his home in order to accomplish this goal. Although he had some acquaintances in the music scene, he decided that it would be more practical to hire a sound engineer from his hometown. This decision was based upon the fact that he did not have much experience with equipment and that hiring someone with more experience might be helpful to him in the long run. To make sure that he was heading in the right direction, he hired a young woman named Kip Johnson as a mixer for the studio. After setting up the mainframe, Raz decided to move into the main room where all of his gear was. This is where he spent the bulk of his time mixing, mastering, and producing the music. Although he had been a music producer for only a few months, he was able to handle the responsibilities of the job very well. Within two months, he had moved into the main room and was mixing and mastering the new tracks. It was at this point that he decided he wanted to pursue his music engineering degree. In order to get an education in music production, he needed to start at the bottom and work his way up.
